Eco-Prowine certified

Our winery participated in this project, here some details about it.

The ECOPROWINE Project aims at:
 

1. The minimization of environmental impacts of wine production: Reduction of natural resources (water, raw materials), energy consumption, input of additives and co-adjuncts, quantity and pollution impact of wastes and wastewater and environmental emissions (e.g. GHGs, nitrates) in the wine making process across its whole life cycle chain
2. Uptaking and widely applying the Life Cycle and Cost Assessment methodology, which need incentives to penetrate significantly the market, in the wine making process
3. Implementing cost-effective measures and technologies for improving, among others, wastewater, energy consumption, solid and gaseous residues and resource management
4. Developing a Life Cycle Wine Assessment label
5. Reinforcing the commercial environmental appeal of the European wine
6. Fostering compliance with the relevant regulatory framework

After 3 yrs of work with partners from many European countries we have the certification that our eco impact is below the mean European wineries level.
